In the mobile journalism project in my Broadcast Tech class, we were told to pick a subject, and interview someone who is an expert in that specific subject. This year at Ladue High School, there was a huge schedule change, which was made to benefit the students and teachers. I decided to interview my class principal about the schedule, her role in creating the schedule, and also how she thinks it has benefited the school, so far. During this mobile journalism project, I learned how to properly interview someone using an iPad and also the right way to ask questions in an interview. I think in my video, my greatest success was overall the interview of my principal. I think with the questions I asked her, I was able to get solid answers that thoroughly explain my topic. On the other hand, my biggest challenge was getting good B-roll and Nat sound. Since my topic was about the schedule, I was only able to get footage of the bell ringing and class going on. It was hard for me to get natural sound other than the bell. Overall I really liked this project and it was satisfying to see the outcome of my footage and work.
